Tea Anyone?


A certain preschooler I know got this lovely china tea set for Christmas. She LOVES to have tea parties. She had one a bit back that included her sister... oh yeah and the cat... Sunshine. This is how it went:

Preschooler: You want some tea?
Adult: Why yes I would.
*she pretend pours some tea for Adult which is pretend consumed*
Adult: Pour some tea for your sister and for Sunshine.
*she pretend pours tea for the others*
Preschooler: No! No sister! Gimme that back!
Adult: No, no, honey, take the creamer out of your mouth...
Preschooler: Make her stop!
Toddler: *shrill screach as the creamer is pried out of her clenched fist*
Adult: Here sweetie... have your phone... *attempting to distract said todller*
Toddler: ehhhmmmmoooh! bbbbbbppptth... *wanders off*
Preschooler: hehehe... want more tea?
Adult: I've already got some, thank you. *holds tiny cup up to cat* Look, Sunshine likes it.
Toddler: Dat! Dat! *drops toy phone and heads back to tea party*
Preschooler: *laughs uncontrolably at cat in tea party*
Toddler: *Picks up cats tea cup that Adult just put down and thrusts into cats face* Dat! Dat! Dat!
Adult: Ok honey, I think Sunshine has had enough tea. Ok honey... put the cup down...
Toddler: *climbing over tea party to get to cat who is moving to higher ground* Dat! ummmbaammma! Dat! Dat! pppptttppptt!
Adult: Now stop it. Sit down. *takes tea cup from Toddler*
Preschooler: Stop it! Stop it! Get off! *shoving toddler*
Toddler: *gets off tea party... grabs tea cup... tosses it*
Adult: No! Don't do that. *retrieves tea cup... just in time to see tea pot whizz by..*
Adult: Do not throw the cups.. or anything else...
Toddler: *pitches another cup, then sugar bowl*
Preschooler: *in whiney tone* Make her stop!
Adult: *sigh* *retrieving tea set pieces* Maybe we should do this another time... like when she's asleep....
Preschooler: Awwwwww...... I wanted a tea party...
Adult: *bigger sigh* not now hon....

Sheesh.... I bet the queen never had to deal with anything like this...
