Oh L - I love the new painting! I have NO clue who did it, but it looks like the hills of Greece to me. (and that's definitly an uneducated guess! LOL!)

Nothing reminds me of Halloween from childhood like... PIXI STIX!!! (I had a hell of a time finding a link to Pixi Stix... I did a search for them and came up with a shit load of links for snorting pixi stix.... wtf?) My husband brought home 2 Pixi Stix for me! Except they are smaller than I remember... just a bit larger than a coffee stir stick... not like the regular size straw like I recall (although my memory is probably flawed). The Pixi Stix were the Holy Grail of the Halloween haul as a child. You only got a few of those and if you were really lucky you managed to get a GIANT PIXI STIX... You know, the straw that was almost as tall as you were, all filled with sweetened koolaid stuff. Kids were like little addicts with that stuff. Taking hits off your Stix... And with the big one, we'd all gather in a group on the play ground, wait for our turn for a hit off the GIANT PIXI STIX. hehehehe... those were the days... I'm not sure I'll eat my Pixi Stix I'll probably just keep them. I'm not even sure my 31 year old body could handle that much sugar anymore! HAHAHAHAHA....
Ahhhhhh... all the great memories of Halloween from when I was a wee child. D - brought up on her blog how we once were dressed up as Ghetto Ghosts. HAHAHAHAHA! I remember that! (For those who didn't grow up as poor as we did, Ghetto Ghosts are when your mom makes you a ghost costume out of sheets but doesn't cut holes in the sheet because that's all you have). Cheesy costumes... too much candy... *sigh* Halloween was fabulous.

I'm just glad work is over for today. I had 3 hospitals to cover today, no big deal. I decided to take the medium hospital fist, then the large hospital and the small hospital to finish as it's closest to my home. I go to the medium hospital and I have 4 babies to photo, it takes a couple hours and that puts me about an hour later getting to the large hospital than I had planned, but not a crisis. I get into the large hospital, get all my paper work together and go looking for catalogs... (which are very important to making sales in this job... and which we had about 150 or 200 on Tuesday when I covered that hospital) and there are NO catalogs at all. There's some cryptic note in the cabinet about using all the old catalogs before opening the box of new ones. I look everywhere, I can't find anything. I ask the head nurse, she has no clue. I spend 30 minutes searching, then decide I will have to go get some from another hospital, so I head off to the small hospital, take a picture there and take as many catalogs as can be spared - just 10!!! I didn't realize they were low on catalogs... I head back to the hospital. I've already missed people, it doesn't go smoothly... I'm pissed at the Monday-Thursday person, she called me last night but failed to mention any issue with catalogs!
OK, I'm done.. I've vented.... *sigh*
last night was fun, we had some trick-or-treat'ers. they were cute. We didn't have enough to take care of all of the candy... and hubby brough more home with him... that bastage! ;o) We watched Night of The Living Dead... thats a great movie. I think we had more fun yelling things at the television. Like after the truck stops burning and the zombies all start walking to it to get a bite to eat, we were doing our 'zombie' voices saying "Barbeque...." (we cracked up at the end when that redneck sherif says "looks like someone had a barbeque") when the zombies were at the door "Avon calling" "Take a WatchTower..." Anyway.. I guess you had to be there... we were laughing our asses off.
Then we watched Nightmare on Elm Street. It makes me laugh every time I see pouffy haired Johny Depp in that movie. I do love that movie... Freddy is my favorite slasher movie villian. Hubby had never seen that movie.. and I think he would have liked to have kept it that way. lol. Tonight we have Day of the Dead to watch. I'm hopeing to be frightened tonight (heheheh) I'd like something between bed wetting and a near death experience... ;o)
well I better go get dinner started.

Well it's Friday.. so it's time for The Friday Five
1. Were you raised in a particular religious faith?
No... I was baptised Catholic and went to Catholic school a couple of times in grade school. Mom wasn't really into religion, we'd go once or twice a year. Stepfather was Pagan but never discouraged us from whatever faith we wanted to pursue, but he didn't help either. At one time my sister and I asked them to take us to church and after much nagging on our part, they did, but then they weren't out there when we got out of church and we had to call them and it took them an our to come get us, so we didn't do that again.
2. Do you still practice that faith? Why or why not?
Yes, Lutheran (Missouri synod). When my husband and I were engaged he brought me to this church. I liked it, felt spiritually touched by it and accepted the Christian religion as my faith.
3. What do you think happens after death?
I think our souls go to heaven.
4. What is your favorite religious ritual (participating in or just observing)?
Baptism, infant or adult. It's an extremely spiritual moment for me to watch.. I cry every time.
5. Do you believe people are basically good?
I do, maybe that's just naive, but I do believe that people are basically good.

I'm psyched for trick-or-treaters... which is funny because I live in townhouses so I probably won't get any... although there are a lot of kids here. I bought a little candy, mostly stuff I don't really care for so I won't eat it... I'm feeling kind of FAT lately, so I don't need to eat a couple of bags of chocolate tonight while watching scary movies. I'm so excited about watching scary movies also.. that's way lame I know.. but my hubby doesn't really like scary movies, and I've been craving BRAINS... I mean a good zombie movie.. I've got the classic for that... Romero's Night of The Living Dead...
Having a game this weekend, I just finished cleaning this place.. well not totally finished, I need to clean off the computer desk and the dining table.. just papers though. It is nice to have such a small place, doesn't take more than 2 hours to clean it. I should go clean my bathroom... getting hair tumbleweeds in there again.
Oh! I'm getting trick-or-treat'ers! YAY! And I'm making cookies... peanut butter chocolate chip.. so hubby doesn't snarf on all the candy. ;o) Well I guess I better go!

BOOO!!! Did I scare ya? hehehe.. Yeah I know, silly.
I went into work this morning.. hehehe... had plenty to do. Tried to do the other hospital today, but there was some kind of drill or something going on up there and I couldnt' get to the camera.. Oh well. I'll check back later.
I got candy for tonight and some movies... Nightmare on Elm Street, Day of The Dead, Night of The Living Dead and some Woody Allen movie.. I'm sure at least one of them should scare the crap out of us.
Must run.. have to clean house, etc., etc., etc..

1.What is your all time favorite old fashion video game system or computer?
Atari without a doubt. My husband had an Intelevision when we first got together - he even had most of the games! We played that for a while.. it was a riot.
2.If it were your job to design the ultimate video game what would it be like?
shit.. I have no idea. I tend to play the strategic games.. not the typical video game.. because I SUCK at all of the cool games.. even Sonic... then I get embarassed because I suck so much.. and I don't want to play anymore.
3.What video games are you really good at?
I think I answered that in question 2... NONE... I suck at all of them.. I WANT to be good at them.. but I don't.
Bonus question for comments: What was the one really hard task in a video games that you feel super proud that you finally achieved? ummm... actually just about anything that I do managed to do without dieing...

OK, so I went and met my friend, I didn't ditch 'em... and surprisingly it was pretty cool. Ususally this friend is pretty damn self-absorbed and that just gets on my nerves, but, miracle of miracles.. tonight was different. We just met for a little while, just enough to catch up.
Hubby 'made' dinner tonight... hot wings... actually a bunch of different flavors, original, hot, cajun hot, teriaki (sp?) and fries. But no monster movies.. no zombie movie for me! Whaaaa!! Oh well.. I'll rent one tomorrow. I must have a zombie movie.. I must have brains! BRAINS!!!!
Ok, off to find something interesting to write about... I know I'm getting boreing and monotonous lately.. *sigh*
(later) Damn.. I have the worst case of heartburn now... thanks to the hotwings. Fuck.. I should have had the BRAINS!!!

Hmmm.. I'm in a quandry... a friend wants me to meet them tonight, but I'm thinking of ditching them... which is just bitchy.. but I've kind of gotten bored with them... yeah that's really bitchy. But you see this person really is a world class jerk... but kind of interesting... well was interesting.. now.. I'm bored... I'm thinking about getting chicken wings for dinner and renting monster movies to watch instead of meeting this person. Is that just awful? I mean the drive to where they want to meet is 45 minutes for me, and the traffic is horrible at night because that highway has construction on it at night.. so it could take me even longer to get home. Shit.. I'm going to go... I hate leaving people waiting for me. Return Of The Living Dead will have to wait (thanks Jake and all for getting that movie stuck in my head.. I must see it.. but.. I do love zombie movies... brains... brains....)
A - I am the Shoe Queen... ;o) I may be the only person to cry about Imelda being kicked off her island and not being allowed to take her shoes!
L - Troll feet? No way... Too bad your not here, I'm sure I could find a place to get you some shoes at... even nice ones... dare I say pretty ones..
OK, so I royally fucked up. I get home today and there's an angry message from someone at the company I work for, one of the hospitals is pissed because no one has been there since Sunday to take pictures. The person who usually takes care of that hospital is on vacation.. which I knew that... but I totally missunderstood what she told me. I work Fridays, and she called Thursday and told me that Jodi would take care of the hospital, but not the smaller one. Well I thought she meant that Jodi would take care of the hospital all week, not just Friday. Shit... I'll go in tomorrow and take pictures and try to squeeze them in on Friday morning, but I don't want to get to my Friday hospital to late. I would have called back the person who left the message, but they didn't leave a number and didn't leave their last name... DOH! Crap... I'd worry about being fired, but I know they won't do that. I just hate that I did fucked up.

Wooohoo!!!! We got a new DVD player! Hubby got a bonus from work - a $225 gift card from Best Buy, so we got a new DVD player (on sale...), some photo editing software for me and some DVDs - Monsters Inc. and Farscape (best of from season 1). We looked at the PS2, but it was a choice between the PS2 and the DVD player, so no PS2. eh, no biggie! The new software will keep me occupied for a while. ;o) and when it all was said and done, it cost us $13.11. Damn, it's like Christmas here!
L - I'm sure you can ask the landlord to fix those little things. And you will still love the new place. Good luck with the packing!
A - what are the kids dressing up for this year?
D - $600! oh that sucks soooo much. *sending much sympathy your way*
Well I better go.. I can't even make coherent thoughts right now. I got a new DVD player! YAY!!!

I'm back. Worked and I replaced the pager and no one is the wiser... It was a short day, I was surprised since no one went in yesterday.
*sigh* I need a vacation. I need some time away from Texas. Not that I dislike Texas, I just need a change of scenery. Anybody out there want me to come visit? ;o) I'd like to see the leaves changing this time of year.. leaves just turn brown and fall of the trees here. Ahhh well. I'll just keep dreaming.

I have to go to work today... someone is still sick. This is not entirely a bad thing as I do need the money AND on Friday.. I did something I should not have.. I brought the beeper home by accident. I just forgot that it was in my pants pocket. Well before I go there, I have to check my small hospital and get my application to The Picture People.
What do you get with bell pepper, onion, okra, tomato, chicken and sausage? GUMBO! Last night I made gumbo for dinner.. my husband's favorite. I'm not going to post the recipe though... you couldn't make it anyway... You'd have to know how to make a roux and if you know how to do that you probably already know how to make gumbo and have a favorite recipe, besides I don't really use a recipe. I made pumpkin bread also.. Yum yum yum... that was soooo good. I'll post that recipe later.. this is the best damn bread... Just had some for breakfast... with whipped cream.. I love whipped cream on just about anything... anything I tell you...
So I had this whacky dream last night. We go into a store to rent videos, theres a guy working there that looks like The Rock, and I'm all hot for him but I know he's married so I'm just casually flirting with him at one point he needs to get to something that is behind us and he doesn't say excuse me or whatever he just presses against me to reach it.. which I did not mind in the least (funny thing, in the dream I did not try to cop a feel, which in real life I would have, but I kept telling myself to do it!). I get my videos and theres this other guy I stop to talk to, there's piece of paper on the table and two markers. He starts writing on the paper and I say, "go ahead and put your number also." he looks up, surprised and says "what? really?" and I say "Yeah, give me your number." so he does... Then I leave with his number, off to the car, where my posse is waiting for me.. in the back seat theres a guy who looks like Gavin Rosdale from Bush (where the hell did that come from?). Thats it.. the phone rang and woke me. I don't know if I called that guy or not. I told this dream to a friend this morning, and their response was "Girl you need to get some action." HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Well I got to get going. I hope there is some hot water for me!

Something I just found.. Top 10 Scariest Movies. Here is the list minus the movie info.
10. Eraserhead (1977)
9. The Exorcist (1973)
8. Halloween (1978)
7. Don't Look Now (1973)
6. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
5. Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
4. Suspiria (1977)
3. Night of the Living Dead (1968)
2. Repulsion (1965)
1. Psycho (1960)
Just missed: The Shining (1980); Jaws (1975); The Silence of the Lambs (1991); Dead Ringers (1988); Seconds (1966)
Now my comments: I was surprised that despite my great love for horror movies I am not familiar with 4 out of the 10. Who made up this list? I'm ok with Psycho being #1, it is a classic after all, but The Texas Chainsaw Massacre made the list? Was that supposed to be scary? And why was The Exorcist way down on #9? That is one scary movie... much more disturbing than Night of the Living Dead. I think Alien should have been part of this group. That movie scared me when I was 9 and it still scares me. Hmph...
So what is the scariest movie you've ever seen? and why did it scare you so much?
For me the movie that gave me sleepless nights was American Werewolf in London - I love that movie. I was it when I was 10 or 11, and I watched it by my self (what were my parents thinking!), but Amityville Horror came in a close second on that, my sister and I blatantly lied to our babysitter when we were little (I was just 7!!) and she took us to that instead of The Muppet Movie with the other kids. I had nightmares for a week! It's a good think we didn't talk her into the movie that I really wanted to see - Alien! Yikes - I'd still be scared from that one!

YAY L! YAY! I can't wait to see the pics! I'm so happy for you!
A - your little one probably heard that from someone at school. My oldest came up to me about a month ago and said "______ said poopy-head". she said it a few times, I think just to get a reaction, and I explained to her that it was not a nice thing to say. But when she's around other kids, she picks up things. What can you do?
It's raining here... *sigh* I think that's what's making me all down today. That and I haven't managed to get squat done today. I do hate that. Im going to make some pumpkin bread in a few minutes. Making chicken gumbo for dinner. That's my husband's favorite thing I make... so I'm making it for him...
Off to the kitchen to kill a pumpkin!

hmmm.. I'm really kind of tripped that the call from Mel is still on my mind. I can't stop thinking about Todd and how he has turned out. Mel said that he had really changed, he wasn't the same person. She said that recently she saw a group of former co-workers. They all got together, and Todd crashed the party. She was surprised he had the nerve to show up. Especially since Joe was there, and Joe had taught Todd everything he knows about the industry... in the end Todd screwed over Joe and betrayed him as a friend. I guess I should have known what kind of person Todd was at that point, because I saw this happen, but I was totally loyal to him. By the time I got laid off, I knew that Todd had changed... he was doing Stick and listening to what she was saying despite the consequences... and he ended up loosing that job. Now.. it appears that he's really screwed up his life. That disturbs me for some reason. I guess because I always thought Todd would do well... and he seemed pretty in control. He was a powerful man when I worked for him... now it sounds like he's a broken man... Mel said that once he mentioned that his wife was drinking two bottles of wine before he got home in the evenings... that's a lot. I guess I just figured he was smart enough to not let this happen... but I guess I was wrong.. I'm disapointed.
This morning has been absolutly insane. It's almost 11 and I just now got out of the shower! At 6:40 am I get a call from work, someone is sick at the hospital I work on Fridays, can I work it? No.. I have things to do today so I can't. Then at 7:30 someone else calls me, I let it go to voice mail because I don't want to talk to them... they call back.. 3 times. sheesh. Then at 9 am I get a blast from the past when a friend I used to work with at Nortel calls. I haven't talked to her in forever! Mel needed to vent about someone we used to work with.. who she now works with YET again.. and she HATES it. Stick is what we always called her.. she's a total bitch.. she hates Mel... Well Stick screwed me out of my job.. she was sleeping with my boss... everyone knew it.. The boss - Todd, got laid off from his job about a year after he laid me off.. I got a laugh at that.. I knew he would bounce back and find another job, he's really smart. He did, Mel works for him now. and he brough Stick on about 5 months ago.. all the women hate her.. she's a coniving bitch who sweet talks all the men.. and she got a boob job, so she's got huge boobs (which is kind of funny, she has this little stick body and huge boobs...) Mel said she looks awful, really old (she's always looked older than she was... she was about 40 when I worked with her, so she's probably close to 44 now... and since she tans a lot... I can only imagine what her skin looks like). So Mel tells me that Todd is in bad shape, he's drinking a lot, gained weight and is in danger of loosing this job, she also told me that everyone knows that he's doing Stick also.. And he now works for a small company.. really stupid. Mel said that there is trouble in his home life also.. his wife has started drinking also. *sigh* that's sad.. she was such an upstanding person.. I guess she found out about Todd's carousing... Anyway.. that made me feel really sad for him. I was angry that Todd laid me off the way he did, but I never wanted anything bad to happen to him. I guess it is true.. what comes around, goes around.
Anyway.. I still have so much to do.. damn.. I need to go...

Well it's MONDAY! So that's means it's time for....*drum roll please..* the Monday Mission 2.43 (thanks to PromoGuy
1. Ever do anything over and over just to make someone else happy but discover you actually hate it?
Yeah.. It's generally called work!
2. What kinds of obligations do you enjoy?
I used to teach Sunday school to a 4 year olds, I did that for 7 years and loved every minute of it - even the really hellish class of one year.
3. What are your feelings about celebrating Halloween?
I love any occasion that calls for dressing up and getting free candy.
4. Are there any stories of bodily functions you would prefer people not share with you in conversation?
Oh yeah.. anything that involves mucus or anything from ones nose. *cringe* *shudder*
5. What do you think is the most important aspect of personal hygiene that bothers you when people overlook it?
deodorant and brushing ones teeth... anything that makes you stinky.
6. Ponder the thought of being forever young, living on endlessly, being immortal. What would that life be like for you?
Hmmm... weird...
7. What's the last thing you felt was "worth fighting for?"
Love
BONUS: Sooner or later, they all will be gone...why don't they stay young?
Because they have to... that's all...
Today's comment question: What is the last thing you do before going to bed? brush my teeth
Answer these and post them!

How frustrating… earlier I had a nice long post written and when I tried to post, I got an error… all my work was gone. DAMN!
So here’s my re-write. Today was a nice easy day at work, went fast, no crappy people to deal with (YAY!). Then headed home, grocery shopping, lunch, nice long nap, read comic books, make dinner (pizza), watch the God Father… now I’m writing. It’s funny when I met up with D at the book store, I begged her for paper and pen so I could jot down notes of strange, funny or interesting things that I thought might be worthy of writing.
Wacky things I noticed:
At the book store, under a large sign suspended from the ceiling that said ‘True Crime’ was the personal finance books. And under another large sign that said ‘Horror’ was the Gamers Bible. Hahahaha… Someone left their signed credit card receipt on a shelf… Doh! While in Spencers we saw this boy about 10 or so, intently looking at this greeting card with some very large topless women in it, D made a comment about him being to young to be looking at that, and he got embarrassed and put it back. HAHAHAHAHA! It’s funny what some boys will do to see tits. I see a large stack of porn magazines stashed under the bed in this kids future.
I went to the mall yesterday.. it’s like "Sightings" at the mall on the weekends… freaky people. One guy looked like he was going to audition for "Renegade", dressed all in black leather.. he wasn’t bad looking.. but he looked totally out of place in the mall (Hey dude.. the 80’s called, they want their look back). Hehehe.. A woman dressed in a skin tight black and gray outfit with leather trim.. she looked bizarre… and sad… a girl in a black sleeveless middrift shirt and skin tight black skirt over black pants with way too much showing.. my rule... if it's below the bra and it jiggles, you should not be exposing it.. that's not good for anybody.
The COOLEST thing we saw were some dolls - Living Dead Dolls! Mezco Makes the dolls (go look at them!) We saw them in the window and I loved them. I collect dolls, so I am jonesing for these! They have 4 series of them and a set of Mini Dead Dolls that I must have. Granted they will probably clash with the Barbies and the porcelain dolls, but they will be nice company for Freddy. I do love all that creepy stuff. I used to have quite a bit of bizarre creepy stuff but I lost quite a bit in the fire I really only have my serial killer books, true crime books, my two sets of serial killer trading cards (one with the rare extra card that I got from the author of the cards.. I begged..) and of course Freddy. I really need to see if I can find a place to get his sound box fixed, he really is my favorite doll… actually he’s the doll that started my doll collection with now that I think about it. HAHAHAHAHAHA! That’s just bizarre. So.. I really WANT the Living Dead Dolls - especially the mini’s.. they are cute… in a creepy kind of way.
So we watched The Godfather tonight. I do love that movie. Very bloody… but damn good. Back in June it was on television… all cut to shit, but it was on. So we watched it (sort of) I found this stupid, they showed several very bloody Mafia murders but the one time a set of boobs was on the screen they blurred them. That tripped me, first it was about 10 PM when the movie was on, second why is it OK to show a brutal murder but not nipples? What’s so offensive about nipples? Especially a 30 second flash of nipples? Sheesh… anyway… The Godfather really is not a movie for commercial television.. it’s not a movie that should have anything cut out of it, that messes with the continuity of the movie. Oh funny thing… at the beginning of the movie it had an interview with Coppela and the guy who wrote the book, my husband says something about Coppela being dead, I said "He’s not dead." But he insisted…. So I looked it up on the Internet… proved to him that he’s NOT dead. *snicker* Score another for Judy. Interesting thing I learned, Coppela is a co-owner of a winery! That’s very cool.
Well I’m done now.. go look at the cool dolls… ;o)
